The NSPIS Custody software application manages detainees within a custody suite in accordance with the provisions of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act, 1984 and the related codes of practice. Its intuitive user interface guides custody officers through all the necessary procedures and actions to conform to Home Office legislation and UK law.
This includes authorisation via electronic signature and unique PIN numbers held by officers.
NSPIS Custody also interfaces to external systems; these include the Police National Computer (PNC), Quick Address Search (QAS), Video Witness, NAFIS, Crime and Intelligence and NSPIS Case Preparation.
NSPIS Custody captures data in relation to detainees that can then be used to populate other systems (listed above) giving forces the benefit of not having to re-key
